[NL] Hoe geven jonge feministen gezicht en inhoud aan hun activisme op Instagram? En hoe spelen Instagrams ongeschreven regels, vormgeving en algoritmes daar een rol in? In deze shortdoc reflecteren Ilham, Firoza en Marije op hun Instagram praktijken in de context van de groeiende betekenis van social media in hun sociale en professionele leven. Deze film is tot stand gekomen voor de World Media Literacy Forum in kader van Media Awareness Week 2021. [EN] How do young feminists shape their presence on Instagram, an arena that centers visual representation? And how do Instagrams unwritten rules and algorithms come into play? In this short doc Ilham, Firoza and Marije reflect on their Instagram practices in context of the growing significance of social media in their social and professional lives.

[NL] Op feestvakantie na het eindexamen is hét moment voor Nederlandse jongeren om los te gaan. Maar los van wat? In Lloret ’18 volgen we jongeren in Lloret de Mar door een antropologische blik. Want losgaan betekent ook vasthouden - aan je vrienden, een vakantieliefde, normen van gender en nationaliteit, en aan je telefoon. [EN] Post high school graduation party holidays are the perfect moment for Dutch youth to get loose. Loose from what? In Lloret ’18 we follow youth in Lloret de Mar, Spain through an anthropological lense. Because to get loose you need to hold on - to your friends, a holiday lover, gender and nationality identifications, and to your phone. This ethnographic film invites you to question the freedom that is implied in nightlife, to tag along with Dutch youth on their adventures and reflections, and to consider the way digital media shape our realities.

[NL] JIM staat voor Jouw Ingebrachte Mentor en is een nieuwe benadering in de jeugdzorg. In "Door weer&wind” neemt antropoloog Lotte ons mee in gesprek met drie JIMs die reflecteren op hun ervaringen met het mentorschap. Waar lopen de mentoren in zo'n traject tegenaan? En kan de JIM-methode ingezet worden om uithuisplaatsing te voorkomen? Door weer&wind is gemaakt in opdracht van Forensische Orthopedagogiek (UvA) in samenwerking met Chris Hellwig. [EN] YIM stands for Your Introduced Mentor and is a new approach in youth care. In “Door weer&wind” [In all weathers] anthropologist Lotte connects with three YIMs who reflect on their mentorship. What do these mentors encounter in the process? And can the YIM-method be used to prevent out-of-home placement? “Door weer&wind” was commisioned by Forensic Pedagogics at University of Amsterdam in collaboration with Chris Hellwig.
